recognizes the gentlewoman from texas, ms. jackson lee, for five minutes. ms. jackson lee: i thank the speaker very much, and we had an historic occasion last evening, but i rise to comment on a number of issues, and i first want to acknowledge and pay tribute to a texan that was buried yesterday in a tragic incident, chris kyle, a navy seal, who had served this country, loved this country and came back to his family and children and took a cause to help serve troubled veterans. and as he was doing so, along with his friend, chad, one of those troubled veterans shot both he and his friend. what a tragedy, and i think it is important to note the thousands who mourned him and the per session that took him to his burial ground yesterday and to say thank you for serving this nation but coming home to care about those suffering from posttraumatic stress disorder. that leads me to bring up this whole question of sequester. in my own city of houston, i was able to some four years ago establish the first posttraumatic stress disorder center in a hospital that was not a veterans hospital. t

for the search for answers. >> i'm kai jackson! and i'm mary but bal -- mary bubala. here's what people are talking b. >> christopher dorner took lives, two. them officers. the week-long rampage is over. the town of los angeles is breathing a sigh of relief. ♪ [ music ] ♪ >> reporter: bagpipes played as the flag-draped coffin, carrying riverside police officer michael crane entered the church. hundreds of police officers from across southern california attended the funeral. police say former los angeles officer and navy reservist, christopher dorner, shot and killed crane in an ambush last week. >> i really did not realize the sheer scale of this and how many people are touched by his life. >> reporter: police believe 33- year-old dorner was the man they found inside a dharred cabin near big bear. but they have not confirmed it yet. until that happens, police will continue to provide security for some of the officers and families who dorner threatened to kill. the week-long search for dorner ended with an intense four-hour shootout at the cabin.

the aisle there. sheila jackson lee is always there. and there you see senator l landrieu and they just want a moment with the the president. the and from new york, and lindsey graham getting a stop there. >> i don't know if he camped out there for hours or not. >> to camp out there and now works out at the fox, and gene schmidt a republican actually made a personal thing about being there your constituents get to see you interact with the president and i think it raises your stature. >> point out looking at the women senator, the biggest class of women, 20 women senators in the history of the senate, quite a moment. just to pick up on one point, it is going to be interesting to look at how this president deals with going across the divide. is he he the uniter as he was elected as or more confrontational figure that he's been recently, in 2011 right after he-- after the republicans won in the mid-term he said we need to move forward together or not at all. >> let me just interrupt you, this is senator mark kirk who had a stroke, from illinois. senator obama -- president obama, obviously sena
